One of my favorite things to do is to go “thrifting”.

Thrifting refers to the act of shopping at a thrift store, flea market, garage sale, or a shop of a charitable organization, usually with the intent of finding interesting items at a cheap price.

I love going to places like my neighborhood Goodwill and finding unique treasures.  Most people think of second hand stores as other peoples junk but, I hold this saying to be true…”one mans trash is another mans treasure”.

I just moved to a new neighborhood a little over a month ago.  I am slowly realizing how awesome this area is and the discovery of the nearby park makes me love my new place even more.  This park has a lake, playground, tennis court, soccer field, fishing, butterfly garden and hiking trails.  What more could one ask for in a park?  I was able to snap some images while I immersed myself in the new-found open space.

Yesterday I made one of my favorite snacks…Guacamole.

Guacamole Ingredients

2 Avocados
Cilantro
Tomato
Onion
Jalapeno
Lime
Salt and Pepper

Cut the Avocado in half and remove the pit.
Dice the Cilantro, Tomato, Onion and Jalapeno.
Slice the Lime in half.

Combine the diced ingredients and squeeze half a lime into the mixture.

Mash the ingredients with a fork.  Add Salt and Pepper to taste.

There you have it! Delicious Guacamole…Yum.  Enjoy

So this week I gave into to temptation not once but twice. I just couldn’t help it. If you watch my daily blogs then you would know that I stopped by my favorite cupcake shop twice this week. Cami Cakes is the cutest and sweetest cupcake shop in the heart of Buckhead Atlanta.

So today I went to the gun range. I shot a 357 Magnum for the first time. I’ve shot other weapons before being in the military and all but I think I prefer a revolver such as the 357 because it doesn’t spit out shells when you fire and it’s not to much kick back. Well, enjoy the video below.

So, this week I came up with a the crazy idea of doing daily vlog for one year straight. What in the heck was I thinking…attaching myself to such a commitment. I’ll admit it appears to be such a simple thing. I mean Charles Trippy and Ally of CTFxC make it look easy and fun. They are always smiling and everyday is a sunny beautiful day when they shoot. Well I know that’s not reality but how do they do it? I guess I’m about to find out. Will I be able to come up with interesting topics everyday? Is my life that interesting? Will people want to watch? What about when I’m having a bad “hair day” or “face day” or just don’t feel good or happy, will I still have the will power to make a video and post it to Youtube daily?

This weekend I tried a product that I had been meaning to try for months now…WEN Hair Care by Chaz Dean. I saw the infomercial several times and finally decided to order it. I wanted to see if this product really worked on course, thick, ethnic hair.

After trying the product I concluded that WEN Hair Care was successful at cleansing my thick hair. It left my hair feeling soft, conditioned, with body and shine. The down side I would say is the cost and the fact that it is not sold in local stores and you have to order it online and wait days for it to arrive at your doorstep. Also, I believe that WEN is just like the “No Pooh” method also known as “Co-Washing”. Basically you could buy any fortified deep moisturizing conditioner and use it the same way you would WEN and get similar if not better results for a fraction of the cost.

Overall WEN Hair Care Systems gets a thumbs up for delivering its advertised results however, it gets a marginal score when it comes to the cost and accessibility.

Today I watched the calm waves roll in off the Persian Gulf shore as I sipped a Blackberry Lover’s Latte. Although my day was long and busy, I made sure to enjoy every moment of it, as I deeply inhaled my new surroundings. Nothing excites me more than traveling to new continents and experiencing new places and different cultures.

The weekend before Valentines day was great. I was totally surprised by the BF. He tricked me into thinking we were just going to some restaurant for dinner but it ended being way more than an I expected. Below is a video and pictures of the wonderful V-Day weekend.

Of course V-Day isn’t all about the ladies. I took him out to brunch the next day at Murphy’s in VA Highlands in Atlanta. Then I treated him to a spa day, which included a massage, manicure and pedicure. I must say we had a wonderful weekend!
